Well we have been busy at the Aerie. We had a bunch of great volunteers stuffing eggs on the 10th for the Easter Egg hunt on the 11th. I can't name names 'cause I wasn't there. But they know who they are and they are greatly appreciated! Every year the Pleasant Grove Eagles sponsers the City Easter Egg hunt. We stuff the eggs and then go down to the park and hide them all. We have hotdogs and drinks and prizes for the kids. It's all pretty fantastic! This year they did approximately 5700 eggs! Our Aerie President Richard Willson has been involved with this project almost every year since he became an officer. He does a great job and is very dedicated. The Pleasant Grove fire and police department came down and helped out with crowd control and helped cook all those hotdogs. I heard good reports from all involved. Great job everyone!
We are preparing to nominate officers at our next meetings (Aerie and Auxiliary). Our elections will take place the first meeting in May.
We also are preparing to go to state convention in May. Getting our ritual teams ready and such. Convention is always a great time. We look forward to it every year. We get to spend the weekend in an international resort town, Park City, Utah. It is a beautiful area, with great shopping and restaurants. We get to spend time with Eagles from all over the State. We love it there.
The shuffleboard tournament will be on the 18th. Drawing for teams will be at 1:00 PM and then play will start around 2:00. Good luck to all the players!
The auxiliary will have our United Nations party later this month on the 25th. This is a really fun event where groups get together and make a booth representing a country (or something like it). We have had a pirate booth, sex booth, Alien (as in Martians) booth, redneck booth, couch potato booth, monkey island booth, you name it somebody has probably thought of it. We also have booths that actually represent countries like Mexico, Italy, Sweden, China etc. Booths are decorated with the country theme and food is served. Each booth donates a prize for the raffle. It is great fun! If your booth is the best you win a cash prize.
Horseshoes starts on the 26th! Yea!!! We love our horseshoes! Every Wednesday and Sunday we get together and play. So come and join us for an evening with friends in the outdoors.
Don't forget the Eagle Riders ride on the 25th at noon. They are also doing an omelet breakfast on the 19th. See you there!
